Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

Melbourne Spring fashion week has just wrapped up this week and we got the chance to go view one of the final designer runway show of the series.

With the likes of some well known local Australian talent – Alice McCall, ALPHA60, Bul, DRESS UP, Gorman, KUWAII, Megan Park, Obus and We Are Handsome.

Held at Melbourne Townhall, It was my first fashion runway show. Before the show, I hung out with the fashionista’s, fashionable bloggers, designers, photographers and the general public until the runways hosts lead us up to our seats. Wait at my seat, was little hessian gift bag with little treats & samples, how sweet of MSFW…

On the runway all the bloggers all sharply dressed all placed front row on the floor along the runway with their camera’s and smartphones held high ready to snap shots, tweet, blog, share..

The row behind, were the designers, media & PR, all understatedly dressed with serious discerning looks on their faces.

Smack bang in front of the runway a sea of video cameras and photographers ready to shoot and flash lights as the models do their catwalk turns and strut back behind the scenes, Everyone like me were all seated on the mezzanine level.

As the show began, each designer had 10 mins to walk there fashions down the runway with cool chill wave tunes to help the models strut down the runways.

I’m no fashionista but my favourites were Gorman – and Bul – they were pretty, quirky, fun and simple clean cuts.
